Patient Updates

Every day new patients arrive at our facility. In an effort to tell their story of survival and highlight the diverse number of species that we rehabilitate, we highlight a new patient each week. Some of these are individuals, others are orphaned siblings. As their cases progress - we will update the outcome - our hope is that many, many of these patients are released!

This owl was hit by a car on 12/26 and arrived with a large laceration on its chest, gravel in one eye, and suffering from head trauma. It was pretty banged up from being hit and then skinned and ripped up in the roadway. We are treating it for infection and pain - and hope it will recover fully to be released. The eye was flushed out and is healing nicely. Our ICU area is full of owls, eagles, and hawks that all have had some kind of injury this winter.
