Patient Updates

Every day new patients arrive at our facility. In an effort to tell their story of survival and highlight the diverse number of species that we rehabilitate, we highlight a new patient each week. Some of these are individuals, others are orphaned siblings. As their cases progress - we will update the outcome - our hope is that many, many of these patients are released!

These Virginia opossums were orphaned last Thursday in Sedro Woolley. Sadly, their mom was killed accidentally in the demolition of a building and the worker called to say the babies were still alive. Thanks to one of our rehabbers, Miki, for driving out and saving them. One was hiding nearby under some debris, but she heard it and saved him too. There were 10 babies, but only 9 survived the accident. They are all doing really well and we estimate they are between 9 and 10 weeks old. Our baby mammal nursery is starting to get busy... spring has sprung! Status - released.
