Patient Updates

Every day new patients arrive at our facility. In an effort to tell their story of survival and highlight the diverse number of species that we rehabilitate, we highlight a new patient each week. Some of these are individuals, others are orphaned siblings. As their cases progress - we will update the outcome - our hope is that many, many of these patients are released!

Young Barred owl

This little guy came to us on 10/7 - he was found on the ground behind a bank in Stanwood. He was seen there for more than 24 hours and was not able to fly.

We are not sure what happened to him. Maybe he was clipped by a car, or struck the building? He has some shoulder trauma and was suffering from some minor head trauma.

He is still in our ICU, but is improving. He clearly was a juvenile and a bit of a runt - a late bloomer! We are hoping he continues to recover and can gain strength in one of our outside flight cages. Status - released.
