Patient Updates

Every day new patients arrive at our facility. In an effort to tell their story of survival and highlight the diverse number of species that we rehabilitate, we highlight a new patient each week. Some of these are individuals, others are orphaned siblings. As their cases progress - we will update the outcome - our hope is that many, many of these patients are released!

Canada Goose - Shot gets surgery

This goose arrived on 10/11/16. It was found at Twin Lakes in Marysville, unable to fly. We discovered in the x-rays that the goose had been shot.
Thank you to Dr. Lahner for surgically pinning the fractured wing. It is too soon to know how it will heal, but we are hopeful she will be able to fly again. She loves cut grass and is eating well. Status - euthanized. Sadly, even though her wing was pinned - it was not able to heal properly. The fracture was too old when she came to us and she suffered several complications. We made the difficult decision to euthanize her, and know we did everything we could to give her a second chance.
