Patient Updates

Every day new patients arrive at our facility. In an effort to tell their story of survival and highlight the diverse number of species that we rehabilitate, we highlight a new patient each week. Some of these are individuals, others are orphaned siblings. As their cases progress - we will update the outcome - our hope is that many, many of these patients are released!

Injured Virginia Opossum

This opossum was seen wandering around a backyard in Everett. The homeowner saw he had a serious injury and spent several days trying to humane trap him. She finally succeeded and brought him to us. The injury to his back runs from the back of his head to his hind end. He may have scraped it up on a fence or something. The fur is missing and we have him in a dog sweater to keep the wound dressing in place and to help keep him warm. We hope that he will recover, but it will take several weeks and then we will need to wait for his fur to grow back before we release him. Status: pending
