Patient Profiles

Every day new patients arrive at our facility. In an effort to tell their story of survival and highlight the diverse number of species that we rehabilitate, we highlight a new patient each week. Some of these are individuals, others are orphaned siblings. As their cases progress - we will update the outcome - our hope is that many, many of these patients are released!

Got Owls?

We do!! So many owls arrived in the past week, lots of different species. We have seen Northern Pygmy-owls, Saw-whets, Great Horned owls and even a Long-eared owl. Some are in care, sadly some did not survive their injuries. These three Barred owls all were found on the side of the road suffering from head trauma and eye injuries. Car strikes are common as the dawn to dusk hours increase. People are driving their commutes while these guys are trying to hunt. Slow down in wooded areas and try to be alert for owls or hawks near the road. Status: Released
