Patient Profiles

Every day new patients arrive at our facility. In an effort to tell their story of survival and highlight the diverse number of species that we rehabilitate, we highlight a new patient each week. Some of these are individuals, others are orphaned siblings. As their cases progress - we will update the outcome - our hope is that many, many of these patients are released!

Injured Opossum

This juvenile Virginia Opossum was seen for a couple of days at a home in Lake Stevens. The opossum was not leaving the area and was pretty much just hanging out under some items on the homeowner's porch. We went to see if he could be contained and found him under a skateboard. He was brought in for care and radiographs showed he had a fracture to the facial bones. The fracture is in good alignment and will heal in time. The swelling is reducing and he is eating well. He is sleeping snuggled up to a new "friend". Status: Released
