Patient Profiles

Every day new patients arrive at our facility. We see over 3,000 patients annually. Over 135 different species come to us for care. In an effort to tell their stories of survival and highlight the diverse number of species that we rehabilitate, we try to share some of their stories here. You can also see posts on our social media pages.

Cottontail

This cottontail arrived on 10/5 and was found stuck in a fence in Granite Falls. She was likely there for some time before she was discovered as was covered in maggots. Her side was ripped open, her leg had a deep wound - but, she is healing nicely. Daily wound care, pain medications, and antibiotics are helping and we hope to be able to release her as soon as the leg wound is fully healed. Status - died. Sadly, even after weeks of care and the wound healing up so well - this poor little rabbit passed away.
