Patient Updates

Every day new patients arrive at our facility. In an effort to tell their story of survival and highlight the diverse number of species that we rehabilitate, we highlight a new patient each week. Some of these are individuals, others are orphaned siblings. As their cases progress - we will update the outcome - our hope is that many, many of these patients are released!

This Barred owl was rescued today (1/1/18) by one of our volunteers. This was also our first patient for the New Year.

He was trapped inside a fireplace in Beaux Arts (Bellevue area) and thankfully one of our volunteers was able to drive out to rescue him.

The poor little guy was covered in soot and ash, has scratched one eye, but otherwise seems to be healthy -  no fractures or other significant issues.

We now have 6 Barred owls in our care - and they are eating a LOT of mice each day. We finished out 2017 with a patient count of exactly 2000 animals for the year. Status - released.
