Patient Updates

Every day new patients arrive at our facility. In an effort to tell their story of survival and highlight the diverse number of species that we rehabilitate, we highlight a new patient each week. Some of these are individuals, others are orphaned siblings. As their cases progress - we will update the outcome - our hope is that many, many of these patients are released!

Celi - 11/29/1999 - 2/24/2020

We lost Celi, our resident Short-eared owl this week. She came to us as an adult after being hit by a car. We don't know exactly how old she was, but clearly had a long life. Damage to her wing and one eye left her non-releasable. She was on static display for many years, then we retired her and she lived out her days in an enclosure overlooking our wetlands. She was a favorite with our staff and volunteers and will be missed.
